Teaware by Master Houzan (澤鳳山)

Master Houzan (Harumi Sawa) is now the 3rd generation working with his wife Yuki in Shigaraki - Japan and manufactures traditional, simple teaware with an obvious touch of modernity and practicality. In this way, the spirit of the tea tradition is preserved and the tea set still meets modern standards. His son Masayosi Sawa continues this tradition while still bringing his own style to the family business.

The Hobin and Shiboridashi fire glaze was specially made for KOS-tea, tea import O. Seifert, without an inner glaze. As with a tonkyusu, the tea penetrates directly into the ceramic and gives the vessel an unmistakable uniqueness over time. Master Houzan's large tea bowl is also custom-made for KOS-tea, tea import O. Seifert.

Each piece by Master Houzan is unique.
