Katayama Hakusan - 白山

Katayama Hakusan (白山), born in 1949, 3rd generation master potter.

Master Hakusan is a warm and friendly person who enjoys his work. He studied with his father in 1968 and is the third generation to inherit the trade.

His grandfather opened a pottery factory in Tokoname (常滑) in 1935.

Master Houzan

Master Houzan (Harumi Sawa) is now the 3rd generation working with his wife Yuki in Shigaraki - Japan and manufactures traditional, simple teaware with an obvious touch of modernity and practicality. In this way, the spirit of the tea tradition is preserved and the tea set still meets modern standards. His son Masayosi Sawa continues this tradition while still bringing his own style to the family business.

Gyokko (Umehara Takahitro), 玉 光 (梅 原 廣 隆) (born 1946)

is a second-generation master potter, one of the most well-known ceramicists in Tokoname and one of the fastest on the potter's wheel.

Junzo Maekawa (前川淳蔵)

Junzo Maekawa (前川淳蔵), born in Tokoname in 1976, has an excellent sense of precision and perfection. Maybe it's because Junzo Maekawa finished his technical studies in 2000 and only then devoted himself to studying handicrafts in Kyoto.

Suzuki Morihisa

Founded in 1625, the company is one of the oldest Nanbu Tekki foundries in Iwate. The Suzuki family played an important role in establishing the Japanese cast iron tradition. The family business is currently in the 16th generation.

The 13th Generation Master was selected as the "Intangible Cultural Property of Japan".

In the 15th generation, the company was managed for the first time by a master metal caster. in Iwate.
